Vegan Beef & Cheese Sliders

Vegan Beef & Cheese Sliders. So. Dang. Good. These are quick, easy, and are also a fun plant-based game day food - no one will miss the meat!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Dinner rolls I like using potato rolls
  • 4 cups Vegan ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion finely diced
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Basil
  • ½ cup Vegan Sour Cream
  • ¼ cup Nutritional Yeast

Melty Cheese:

  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • ¼ cup Soy milk may need more depending on brand of cheese used
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese

Topping:

  • 1 tablespoon Vegan butter melted
  • 2 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Saute onion in butter over medium/high heat until onions are translucent and cooked all the way through.
  • Mix in spices.
  • Mix in vegan ground meat and let cook until done.
  • Turn off heat. Add in sour cream and nutritional yeast. Mix until well combined. Set aside.
  • Cut the sheet of dinner rolls in half using a long bread knife. You now have a top sheet and a bottom sheet of bread. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet.
  • Place the vegan ground mixture on the bottom half of the bread. Pack it down gently, but firmly so it doesn't crumble out. Set aside.
  • Prepare your melty cheese sauce!
  • Add butter to a small pan over low/medium heat. Let it melt
  • Once butter has melted, add in milk and cheese. Cook until melted all together. Stir consistently. (approx. 8-10 min)
  • Drizzle cheese over vegan ground mixture. Place the top sheet of bread back on top.
  • Brush top of bread with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  • Bake at 350 F. for 12-15 min or until buns are as crispy as you like.
  • Cut along edges of the rolls before serving (as seen in video). Enjoy!
