Chocolate + Espresso is a match made in heaven, so why not make them into a martini? If you like a sweet cocktail, this chocolate espresso martini is a fun one to add to your repertoire. It looks impressive and festive but is actually simple to make!
I serve this chocolate espresso martini on holidays. It is the perfect New Year’s Eve drink! Fun, pretty, sweet, and the hit of espresso will help give you a little boost to stay up late! Of course, if you don’t want the extra caffeine you can make this with decaf. You can make this with homemade chocolate sauce or store bought. Both work welll. Variations for both listed below.
Ingredients
- Espresso. Instant or freshly brewed both work. Chamberlain Coffee makes good organic instant coffee. Bonus, the company is woman-owned!
- Creme de Cacao
- Vanilla Vodka. I used Absolut Vanilla Vodka (all Absolut products are vegan!)
- Chocolate Sauce
- Plant Milk – I’ve made this with almond milk, soy milk, and cashew milk. They all work well.
See the recipe card below for quantities.
Variations
- No Caffeine – Feel free to use decaf espresso if you don’t want the caffeine hit.
- Vodka – Use any kind of vodka you like. Vanilla vodka works great here, but any kind will taste good.
- Garnish – For the chocolate swirl around the martini glass, I used plain melted chocolate. I like this method because it doesn’t drip down the glass so you can garnish your glasses well in advance if you would like! However, you can also use chocolate sauce.
